Topic: art program in frame

Posted under General

in modern context, many artists would screenshot their artwork with a display of art program ui than exporting it, i am certain that is for sole purpose to look more aesthetically pleasant (subjectively speaking) or see sneak-peak/sketch/wip.

made this thread because one of my posts got removed because it's a "screencap" for showing the procreate's ui meanwhile prior to dub's deletion, there are posts (including mine) with program ui seemingly get approved. (i.e https://e621.net/posts?tags=art_program_in_frame+)

besides that, other booru sites like danbooru (which has really high standards for art and overly specific taste for what things get approved) allows a plethora of posts with art program ui.

should there be debate about this?

Sneak-peaks and WIPs are usually regarded as inferior to the finished version, so should probably be deleted for that reason alone. Posts like post #3950802 intentionally incorporate the UI as part of the composition so that should be acceptable IMO.

I don't really see how having a little bit of UI is a big deal as long as it's the best available version of the image which otherwise meets the other quality requirements, but clearly this is something that janitors don't agree on either seeing how some get deleted and others get accepted.

it wouldn't make any sense for sketches/wip to be removed if you have thousands of sketch/wip to be accepted. and with program ui, there are posts like this with bare minimum of meeting uploading guidelines that could be deleted otherwise is approved.

it speaks more about dub the fox's mind for deletion unlike other admins that approved the post featuring it.

i agree with snake girl

while i understand a need for having the highest quality version of a piece of work available, if the best quality version of an art is a screenshot in the art program it was made in; then it should be kept here as-is

but regardless of what's this site's stance on screenshots of art programs are, at the very least there should be a consistent rule that applies to all of them rather than what the janitor is feeling that day (i mean look at post #3453196:
the tab is covering his tail for crying out loud, and that kind of stuff didn't happen with the two sketches dubs deleted:

If these were cropped, they'd meet the quality standards. But we're not supposed to make third-party crops.

So this art is just doomed to not be uploaded. It doesn't seem befitting for an art archive.

is there a good reason why similarly uncropped posts like post #3453196 or post #3938170 are befitting for an art archive? because my main problem here is the lack of consistency
