holding_penis is defined rather unintuitively as "A character holding/grabbing their own penis for any reason. Holding in this context refers to gripping the penis, or some other means of physically supporting it with one's hands/arms." which has lead to an incredibly large amount of mistagging. I think it would be better to move that definition to holding_own_penis and allow holding_penis to apply to any character holding any penis, or we would have to clean up the tag so it can be safely aliased to holding_own_penis.

The holding_*/*_grab system of differentiating between who is holding/grabbing what just doesn't work, because too many users don't read the tag wiki when choosing which tags to use, so all tags following this format should probably be replaced with more descriptive tags.

It would probably be much more understandable to follow the same scheme as other tags like hand_on_hip, rather than expecting people to understand the difference between holding and grabbing.

• holding_penis - any post where a penis is being held
• holding_another's_penis
• holding_own_penis

But honestly - what's the difference between this and other tags that already exist like hand_on_penis / hand_on_own_penis / hand_on_another's_penis? Do we really need to distinguish the difference between holding, grabbing and just having a hand on it? nvm you can grab things with non-hand appendages

as of my update to the wiki pages, i made it more generalized for the room for both ‘holding own penis’ and ‘holding another’s penis’ tags. this whole “Used to denote a character holding their own penis in an image” description has been stayed for a decade in holding_penis wiki page.

Reason: Removing the unintuitive holding_sheath/sheath_grab distinction to replace it with the more intuitive holding_own_sheath and holding_another's_sheath, redefining holding_sheath to all instances of a character holding any sheath.
The reason behind this change is that sheath_grab and holding_sheath are too easily mistagged with their current definitions.
