So I've been thinking. Is it true that most furries are or tend to be, extremely "liberal"? Not that I'd hate you or nothing. I feel as if I'm the only one who ain't. I'm really just a guy who likes to hunt, fish, and stick to the deep country. That's me and I ain't ashamed. I also happen to share a liking for anthro stuff (especially porn :3). But to be honest, I feel horribly alone here.
Anyway, am I really that alone? I'm trying to be everyone's friend. But I just feel like an utter alien.

My politics don't determine my identity. I should've rephrased that. What I was getting at was it seems many furries are the people who'd be against me. The way I live is different than most people here I assume. I shouldn't have mentioned parties. I was trying to make some kind of comparison.

Nobody should be prejudiced towards anyone based on their political beliefs or such things.

We should all just judge others by the color of their skin, like normal people!

Don't feel that way, I'm not too keen on politics myself, and from what I've seen, which, granted, isn't much, it's not something that other people much care for on here as well.

I don't think being very liberal means you're an activist. There's a difference between what you think is right and how you think you can make it so. Not everyone thinks that beating up the opposition in the court of public opinion == winning.

(though it may help in some cases of particularly pervasive lies, Personally I'd suggest that the claim 'death is a good thing' deserves a good public beatdown.)

A lot of the people here are what might be called 'geeky', AFAICS. One of the common memes there is a concern about acceptance -- not just that I should be accepted, but that everyone should be accepted. I remember reading an article about how that's problematic (over-emphasized at the cost of other things), but if anything, those are the only common attitudes I would ascribe to furries : individualism and an emphasis on acceptance.

All I can say is that there are two things I refuse to discuss except in the company of very close friends. Religion, and politics.

I think the only stereotype true of all furries is their generalizing everything

I feel a lot of it stems from gay rights and such, a larger percentage of the furry community is gay/transgender than the general population, and much more of the other parts of the community are supportive of it. They are generally more left leaning due to the fact that the right wing thinks of gays as subhuman.

It don't dictate that. But thanks. This really isn't about right or left. I was making more of a crappy comparison.

My opinion on politics is as follows: grab all politicians, throw them into the sun.

Problem solved.

I don't really tend to fit well within either/any party, but this seemed relevant.

never liked politics to begin with, WAY more trouble than its worth to even consider getting involved in it. besides, i see and hear about enough lying, decieving, disappointment, etc. just from keeping up with new video games, thats enough of that crap for me. i imagine dealing with a government or politicians would be like 100x+ worse. >.>

It's true. My first step mother died either this day or the 28th some 7 or so years ago. I still hate myself for having been a bad tempered kid at the time. Had I only known she didn't have much time left. Fucking encephalitis.
