Topic: What popular artist do you miss the most?

Posted under Off Topic

This is just rambling semi-vent but...

Sometimes its fine for artists to take breaks or month long hiatuses, but I wonder how many popular artists have stopped posting altogether.
I want to dig further into the rabbit hole, but I am afraid of stumbling upon something too personal; something too real. Like a messy break up of a 4-year long relationship, a winning streak of unfortunate scandals, or a wavering amount of low self esteem that causes them to delete and remove everything.
All I hope is some sort of sign that they are ok or fine or that they aren't interested in doing art anymore but that's asking too much. Personally, I think it's okay to retreat into a shell if things get too hectic. But I guess time will tell.

Sorry if it's too much, it's just a sleep deprived thought that came to my mind.

Strider Orion. Such a talented artist, I hope he returns someday.

Also, even if he doesn't make a return, I'd love to know if Civasco is still alive somewhere out there. I never got to tell him how much I liked his art.

I miss Furronika.

He still posts on his Twixxer account, but it's either AI-generated images or reposts.

Cobaltsnyapse and kyrushiro. Cobalt was so skilled and, luckily, some people third-party color is art still but I do miss him. Kyru was a great animator and had great pokemon flash animations. If anyone knows where I can see kyru's stuff pls let me know. And I'm sorry that spelling might be correct for kyru's name...

kayla_orca, personally. They deleted their furrafinity and took down all posts from here, so very unlikely to come back.

An unusual answer but, IcedogMcmuffin. A vengeful ex started a harassment campaign and drove them off the internet.

Bloopa, they were an artist with many of my favorite Cbt images on FA. But one day they just vanished along with their art which I regret not saving to a device or something to this day. Another artist with a similar style deputed up after so, which I believe is Bloopa by a different name but I miss the old art and often wonder why all of it had to go.

Dr Comet pretty much my first exposure to furry art and the furry community in general when I was younger, so they'll always hold a special place in my heart. It seems like they stopped making stuff (or at least their stuff just stopped showing up here) regularly around 2010 and most of the latest stuff seems to just be edits or recolors of old art. Though I've heard whispers that they are still active on the Japanese side of the internet so who knows, maybe I'm just not looking hard enough.

i don't know the history of this artist, i don't know if they are actually still posting, i just know they had a site that is now defunct (or i can't remember it anymore) and there was a lot more out there than what i can find here and their site was pretty much my first exposure to furries

revenfox

They're not exactly furry artists but Inmomakuro had some really solid stuff but just disappeared one day.
Rokudenashi, he's still around but he's focusing on his art being taken more seriously, opening galleries and stuff, real cool! I just miss his OCs lol
Mr. X Toons made really impressive Disney porn parodies that looked incredibly similar to the OG art style, but also just disappeared
Then VectorPlexis, his site's now used to host gay mods for FO4 and Skyrim that other users create, but he use to make really hot muscly bodies for games

My hunch is that most of these artists got serious studio jobs and just quietly dropped their accounts so it can't be traced back to them

If it's a popular popular artist, powfooo. Just disappeared without a trace about three years ago; just at the time I subscribed to their Patreon.

For a less strict definition of popular, ffjjfjci. Really liked his art, but dude got heavily cyber bullied and doxxed for his content, but I asked around and found out he is still alive and well, just gone from the internet.

It really sucks when an artist disappears with no closure whatsoever. Makes you wonder what happened every time you see their art.

I'm not sure how popular they were outside of feral circles, but since I went unactaive Hybernation and Jambalayathepit stopped posting.
