Topic: Communism and Furries.

Okay, I just want to get this off my chest real quick:

Can we please stop downvoting something because it has a hammer and Sickle, or something relating to the Soviet Union? I get it if you dont like those things, but theres filters for that. I know of the rape comic thing and such, and hate it. I’d like to state that I am not a Tankie. I am a Communist, but I do not agree with all of Marx’s policies. I despise Stalin and what he did, and can see faults within Communist thinking. Yet I chose to think the way I do.

Anyways, that was off topic…

My point is… if you dont like Communism, please stop downvoting posts with feature communist things, and just, blacklist the terms “soviet_union” “communism” and “hammer_and_sickle”. Im tired of seeing good art having 50 downvotes and hate speech in the comments.

Isn't that the purpose of the downvote button though? to downvote something you dislike?

IT is indeed the purpose… but theres also the Blacklist function.

From my understanding, the downlike button is usually used for showing dislike for bad art.

most posts that are tagged with communism, hammer_and_sickle, or soviet_union seem to have positive scores.

Actually since I don't have anything better to do, let's calculate the percentage of posts with negative scores for each tag.

soviet_union has been tagged 476 times, from which 21 posts have a negative score, which is about 4.5%.
hammer_and_sickle has been tagged 272 times, from which 20 posts have a negative score, which is about 7.5%.
communism has been tagged 268 times, from which 30 posts have a negative score, which is about 11%.

At the time of writing this comment e621 has 3,919,511 posts, 31,136 of which have a negative score, which is a bit less than 1% of posts.
So these tags do have a higher than average percentage of posts with a negative score, but let's compare it to some other controversial tags.

nazi has been tagged 918 times, from which 199 posts have a negative score, which is about 21.5%.
politics has been tagged 1122 times, from which 230 posts have a negative score, which is about 20.5%.

It seems to me that although communism related tags are more likely to have a negative score than the average e621 post, nazi and politics are still much more downvoted.
So I don't think this is actually as big a problem as you seem to think.

Buh buh buh, muh communism is being discriminated against.

You had why the post you complained about downvotes on was being downvoted explained to you, prior to it's deletion, it has nothing to do with the politics of it, most furries are left-leaning, some fair few to an unfortunate extreme. Quit this shit, from somebody who endured Soviet rule.

Updated

Not that many people are hating on communism.

In fact, I'd argue most people downvote these pieces when they appear to just be political art, regardless of the contents.
