For now, it appears they allow you to manually change your account's location to "Japan" to disable all the filters, but that was an unpleasant surprise. Who knows how long the workaround will last.

Do we have any word of what's blocked in which region? I didn't notice anything missing in my own.

The usual, I'm sure. I noticed it on this post because it happened to come up while I was re-tagging cub posts.
/me gets a Japanese VPS to proxy out of
Sigh, already had other sites that effectively are blocked for out-of-country users. And you can thank the usual suspects. See also: Why Yahoo mail gets blackholed, and same with firewalls blocking universities or Chinese IP addresses.
Some irony: I'll probably need another account for non-censored tag?
Oh, it changed mine to United States after the announcement. I guess this is the "automatic" part.
Peak meme is that Pixiv clearly didn't actually check the laws for any countries, implying this is kneejerk in reaction to pressure. Only the US and UK have blocks, and they have the same blocks despite having different laws.
The content blocked is legal in the US. But if your region is set to the US the content is blocked.
The content blocked is actually illegal in Australia, no "grey areas" about it. Despite this, if you set your region to Australia the content is unblocked.

And Canada, New Zealand, Ireland, Sweden, Switzerland, France...
It would be easier to list countries where it isn't banned.
Updated
Funny thing is, I just changed countries and it unblocked everything. They even told you how to do it ๐
If my account (that already claims I'm from Hiroshima and has a profile written in Japanese) gets banned in the future over this falsehood... Well Pixiv has already fallen off lately and I barely browse it anymore anyway so what am I losing?

I'm officially from Iceland, now.

Just another reason why these age verification laws are pointless. That, and VPNs exist.

hate to break it to you, buddy, I don't think Pixiv even knows what a North Carolina is.
they sure as hell couldn't do the basic legwork to see what the actual law is for U.S. visitors.
From the same people that brought you sales tax compliance that is several times more expensive in compliance costs than the actual taxes, in 10000 jurisdictions. Coincidentally, perfectly scalable if you have $1B+ in annual turnover like eBay and Amazon and not individuals. Ugh, at least eBay does it for you now.
And yeah, we all know the Carolinas are some of the most regressive legislatures in the union.

I've sent in a support ticket to them citing the relevant document directly from the US to the UN showing their decision is based on horse shit (at the bottom of page 5 into page 6) and I'll update with their response here. I dunno if it's against TOS to show how to circumvent the block here, but if it isn't, I'll gladly show how to get around the block if they don't back down on the block.
