I feel that familial love and romantic/erotic love are very different kinds of love, and to mix them up cheapens them both. Furthermore, since incest carries a high risk of “defective” (for lack of a better term) offspring, it is inherently an “incomplete” form of sex. Combined, these two factors make incest repulsive to me.

I only find it hot when it's in furry porn, while the whole step- porn trend makes me cringe hard, let alone the real thing.

Part of it is probably societal. But I'm like 99% sure there's a biological component too. Inbreeding means the accumulation of deleterious mutations after all.
There are animals/insects which actually prefer related mates as well!

I personally think it's off-putting and it says to me "I can't find love outside my own family" but to each their own. I think I share the reasons for hating it with those who have already posted - it increases the possibility of inheriting mutations, and familial love isn't the same as sexual lust.

Characters can lie or be mistaken, or use an interpretation that doesn't match e6. e.g. a character mentioning having sex with their parent, where it's an adoptive (non-blood-related) parent. That would be stated_incest, but not incest_(lore) since it's not a blood relative.

afaik people mostly end up with an innate revulsion to having sex with people they grew up around. siblings, parents, etc. your brain wiring tells you "no!" with little conscious decision involved.
