Topic: Uploaded the wrong version of a file - what now?

Posted under General

Uploaded a file that wasn't meant for public release. It's not paysite content, just, wasn't meant to be posted. I don't see a fitting option in either flagging or in takedown request. What do?

Artist or commissioner should do a takedown request. Flagging is definitely wrong if it's not paysite content. Takedown request is for any situation where the artist or commissioner does not want the post here.

I'm the commisioner, however the piece is not put up publibly anywhere because, again, I don't want it to be. I -know- there used to be a "I uploaded this by mistake" flag option, did that get removed?

Contact a janitor or admin and ask do to a "Replacement", provide the post ID of the one you posted wrongly and a link to the correct file.
Explain that you are the commissioner and you did not mean to share the private version.

If you're the commissioner, you can file a takedown request. No further steps needed.

Hmm, artist could have gotten verified status but we don't have something like that for commissioners. If the artist themselves has a verified account, they could just get it taken down quicker, right? Because yeah, the admins have to verify if it's legit by going to source site and confirming, right?

The takedown request page heavily implies nothing will happen unless I then take the specific further steps listed on it (message the appropriate account on a hosting platform)

Yes, that's a standard part of filing a takedown request.

... except in this case the piece isn't posted anywhere because, again, it's a private piece.

it doesn't need to be posted anywhere for a takedown to be processed. Sending the code to an account offsite is purely identity verification, it doesn't matter if the specific piece is there or not, as long as it's you
