Not a mod but iirc they don't get paid at all, it's a volunteer position

as far as I'm aware, the only member of staff who is actually a payed DragonFruit employee is NotMeNotYou.

Do the e6 mods get paid good??

We'd be replaced swiftly, not with a good team mind you, we'd be back to the dark ages
but we'd be replaced all the same

Almost no website will pay their moderators because it's not really worth it in most situations

Nimmy is the head administrator of e621, but he isn't the head of bad dragon. When nimmy's rulings are challenged, they're brought to dasa. I haven't seen anything higher myself, but I believe the next step would be Varka himself.

Forum staff isn't a thing, we're all generally allowed to handle anything we physically can (janitors can't truly moderate the forums, for instance, though they can still pitch in)
the only staff levels are Janitor, Moderator & Admin
No one (not even our developer) under NotMeNotYou is paid

There's a full list of levels on github, which goes:

• Anonymous
• Blocked
• Member (unactivated members still fall here)
• Privileged
• Former Staff
• Janitor
• Moderator
• Admin

There's a hidden flag that puts some admins above other admins, "bd staff"
Due to it being hidden it's impossible to get a definitive list, but I know these three are actual bd staff, so I presume they have the flag:

• NotMeNotYou
• DasaDevil
• Dari

p sure forum staff isn't an actual rank? and janitor and moderators are apples and oranges of what should be about the same rank.

if you wanna add something above admin, nmny, head admin, and as donovan says, some of the bad dragon higher ups? and eventually their founder.

They're acknowledged enough to know they're not supposed to be here
while anonymous means peeps who don't have an account to acknowledge.

Blocked peeps have a high level since they have a place to put
that level. Looking at it that way, Levels may not be a purely good thing,
may just be the levels in which e6 has their eye on ya, Dood!

"Blocked" was supposed to be an actual rank – you would still be able to log in, but you wouldn't be able to interact with the site in any meaningful way.
However, there were just too many holes in the permissions to plug, so it was deemed to be not worth it. So, banned users just get logged out instead.

Blood and tears are payment enough.

Pretty much this, yeah. I've done a lot of moderation in the past and worked alongside community managers. While a lot would like to pay us (at least the moderators who stick around and are reliable), there's just no budget room and it brings in too many legal liabilities - and at the end of the day, we're already doing it for free so there's no real reason to fix what isn't broken

If you wanna be paid, apply to the company for a job in customer support, then work your way up/parallel into community support xP

If you dont pay them it's ok but i highly advise to do that

I can call out Song and Tiny Bear for being 2 very good boys who are amazing individuals
Song for being kind in helping with some stuff about posts and posting and to clear up something for me
And bear for just being a good critter who takes care of stuff here and in the discord server

But they arent the only ones
Many other staff does their job good, i may disagree and also strongly disagree but it happens
They still doing their job even unpaid
Send commendations and praise your local e621 staff members that keeps stuff here running clean(sometimes)

Call out to former staff members too who are now retired
