Topic: 1900+ upvote post with likely "young" miss-tagging (zackary)

Posted under General

Why is one of zackary's recent posts tagged as young? it really doesnt seem to fit the tag. the two i see afected by it are these two:

post #4428237 post #4422189

on top of that, the tag was locked on by an admin. pretty sure this cant be right.

(sorry if this is the wrong category, i dont know if there's one for this)

Is it the character's size compared to the controller? I'd never assume either of these were young without the tag saying so.

Young is the general tag, but it's also tagged as adult_(lore), so it's just one of those that was internally talked about by admins and locked down. That's just how some things go.

The correct process is to report the post for Tagging Abuse if people are fighting over tags and ask for a tag lock. Then an admin makes a decision and locks the tag(s) being fought over. If you still disagree (you are here), then message the head admin, say you disagree with the admin's action, and ask for another review.

With that out of the way, it's extremely telling that you had to mention the upvotes first and also namedropped the popufur artist in the title. Neither of those things matter except to draw attention to this thread. Would you have cared enough to make a thread over this if it was some other post for some other artist?

Why? You know, if an admin locks some tags, it's probably not an accident lol.

Anyway, ticket #138064. I reported a related post for an emerging tag fight and asked for a tag review and lock on that post and these other two posts since they were drawn into the fight. High traffic posts like these might as well get their divisive tags locked so some of us can move on with our lives. I have a young-tagging project and didn't want these posts to continue disappearing from and reappearing in my search. Lock the tags on or lock off, I don't care, just get it done.

Implausibly short characters like this one are prone to catching the young tag.

Not trying to argue, but what is the reasoning behind these particular images? The character looks like any other semi-anthro lagomorph to me.

I wish it was common practice for admins to add a specific age group tag alongside young adult_(lore). I'd like to be able to reliably unblacklist borderline posts like this where they look believabily mature while keeping the "this toddler is canonically 10000 years old so technically an adult" posts blacklisted.

i mentioned the upvotes because, well, it means it's an important post, and the "namedrop" is because this artist doesn't draw that, showing that it is likely mistagged. though perhaps i misplaced by putting it in the title

A post being "important" still doesn't matter. An artist "not drawing that" also doesn't matter. Tagging is done via Tag What You See, knowledge of what the artist makes it outside of that. Images are evaluated on their own without any context relating to the artist.

"Tag what you see" I don't see any young characters in these posts.

Short=young?

Thus, all kobold posts were tagged as young.
