So, as I was watching ScrewAttack's Death Battle videos, I noticed one of their most recent uploads.

I'd spoil what it is, but where's the fun in that when you can see for yourself.

I just watched that earlier today. I want them to do the research and make it into a full length Death Battle instead of a 1 min battle

I'm just glad they put both of those characters into a Death Battle in general.

Will they appear again, with research and greater depth? Maybe. Batman did. Vegeta did. Mewtwo did. Eggman did.

I found it comical when they both went "Hmph!" in the end.

I'm now aware that they're doing a Guts vs. Nightmare Deathbattle. Normally I don't watch those things but damn.

that eggman vs wily one was pretty good iirc.

oh yeah, if you want to see some more sprite battles check out www.youtube.com/results?search_query=merlow+beatdown the merlow beatdown collab never got finished but the fights that were going to be a part of it are all still floating around on youtube and deviantart (and other places probably).

I just subscired to ScrewAttack! a month ago. i was always amazed by their battle animations where they merge two characters from different universes and fight each other.

But I haven't been catching up ever since. I haven't watched this particular battle yet and I can't wait!

They've come quite a long way in 4-5 years. Their first Death Battle video (Boba Fett from Star Wars vs. Samus Aran from Metroid) was a HP-gauged 2D sprite battle. They remastered it about a month ago, even going so far as to give homage to the late Monty Oum.

Long story short with my opinion of ScrewAttack!: I don't care who wins or loses. I love how thorough their research is, and how fitting most of their match-ups are, such as Gaara vs. Toph.

That's better of me than being one of the DBZ or DC bitches that complain about who would win a fight between Goku and Superman. Jesus Christ! That video's like and dislike bar is practically 50/50, just from all of the fanboy rage.

To me, the thing about ScrewAttack is that if you have a stake in who wins, you shouldn't watch them. If you're going to be frustrated if they ignore certain abilities and power-ups, again, don't watch.

If you just enjoy seeing them discuss the characters and watching a battle between them, and would be happy no matter who won, then they are fun enough to watch.

But most importantly, whatever you do, never venture into the comments section.

Doesn't this hold true for, like, the entirety of the internet

All comment sections are equal, but some are less equal than others.

They had gotten 2 key things wrong. Wily should have won that fight.
First of all, Roboenza incapacitates robots. The infected bots didn't start flipping the fuck out and attacking everything until a at least a month (or maybe more, idr) after the virus had spread, implying that Dr. Wily himself had triggered that behavior. Obviously he wouldn't flip the crazy switch on something as dangerous as Metal Sonic, He'd be better off out of the way.
Secondly if we are going to dish out bad boys like Metal Sonic on Dr. Robotnick's side, it's only fair that Dr. Wily be allowed to whip out his ultimate creation as well: Zero. That would have been the coupé de grace. Ivo's badnicks were having trouble just dealing with the Robot Masters. Zero, DWN ∞, is the most advanced Robot Master Wily has created, so much so that Zero rivals the technology created 100 years in the future. The jump from someone like Metal Man to Zero is like the jump between DOS and Windows 10. With Metal Sonic subdued, there is nothing left in Robotnick's arsenal that could ever hope to match that. I just finished watching that Death Battle.

I now know where the Soul Caliber series gets its name, and I'm feeling the need to read the manga where Guts is from.

Highly recommended, even though it's likely to never be finished. Berserk is one of the finest manga (as long as you don't mind gore).

The anime adaption isn't bad either, but it also lacks a... closure. More so than the manga.

I'll just mark that on my manga To-Do list.

Just after "The Legend of Koizumi".

Oh boy, you're in for a wild ride.
I agree with Genjar, but gore is a bit of an understatement. Be ready for all the violence, rape and gore that you can handle. Berserk is by far my favorite manga. Dark Horse Comics has caught up with their translations as well.

If you like it, be sure to support it by buying the volumes.
I wouldn't even bother with the 90's anime, and don't watch the movies until you catch up with the manga.
