Topic: Do you get "Upload Burnout"?

Posted under Off Topic

Now I'll preface this by saying my upload count pales in comparison to likely any e6 poweruser, but I'm still interested to see if this is a common feeling.
Sometimes I'll discover a new artist who's gallery is full of amazing art, and be shocked to see that almost none of it has been uploaded here.
Then I'll excitedly start to upload it, taking care to tag everything in as much detail as possible, making sure to list all of the sources the image exists at, linking parent/child post associations, adding descriptions, creating pools, etc. etc. etc.
Then by the time I get 8 images in I'm already realizing that my ambitions were bigger than my abilities and ultimately admit defeat.
I know there are tools and such to streamline the process, but at the end of the day, tagging an image properly will always require a substantial amount of manual labor.
And it always bugs me to know that the task is incomplete whenever I inevitably am unable to upload an artist's entire body of work at once.

Have any of you ever experienced this?

Understand that it is not your "job" to repost every piece of artwork. Don't feel pressured if you see a bunch of artworks that are not posted here yet.

In the past, I was exactly like you, taking literally hours preparing the tags, sources, and descriptions for all of the artworks I was going to repost.
Even taking in the extra initiative to ask everybody's permission and getting the highest quality possible for the artworks, which can take days to procure.

However, you will find yourself very much relieved from this burnout if you start treating it as a hobby instead of a job that needs to be done.
Ultimately, you do not gain anything from it and people aren't going to "suffer" if they don't find the latest artworks on e6. Only do it when you want to.

Yeah, I know you're right, and I do try not to take it too seriously. It's more of an annoyance in the back of my brain than genuine burnout... still though, with how much art gets deleted or lost due to all sorts of reasons, I do feel some obligation to make sure the best stuff gets uploaded promptly.

i post to more places than just here so yes i know what you mean by feeling burned out. try 250 posts in a day.
