The tag alias #71223 police_dog -> domestic_dog has been rejected.

Reason: This is not a breed of dog. It isn't always german shepherds and a handful of images don't feature police gear.

If it IS going to be kept it probably shouldn't be a species tag and should have a good definition that doesn't cover "an anthro dog that is a cop."

It shouldn't be aliased, but the category does need to be changed, and the tag needs cleaning. I think that police_dog should be for feral domestic dogs wearing gear that marks them as being used by law enforcement, as opposed to anthro dogs that are police officers.

what about other ferals acting in the same position as a dog in a K-9 unit?

EDIT: maybe we should just have a tag for the police dog/K-9 harness rather than the animal itself.

That would be much better than the current tag. The only reason I chose "domestic_dog" instead is to prevent mistags because a lot of the posts lack that gear.

+1. police_harness work as a name? Or would K-9_harness work better? Once we retag the images, I think aliasing police_dog is the right call.

Police_k-9_harness would probably be the least ambiguous and least likely to be applied to stuff like post #3989733

In that case it could be aliased to "police animal" (just like "service dog" was aliased to "service animal") and maybe imply that to "working animal"

Using a tag only for the harness doesn't sound like a good idea imo, a feral animal clearly working for the police but without a visible harness should still be found
