Just a passing thought I had. I know a few artists I like who have been known to stream making art on sites like picarto.tv, and I was wondering if it would make sense to post stream recordings to e621. I haven’t seen anything like that here before, and I’m wondering if the fact it’s considered a screen capture might have something to do with it? I can see value in having documentation of artwork in video form, but I can’t decide if that kind of thing would be relevant here.

Sounds like screen capture rules would apply. I doubt that they've never been uploaded, so if they're not here they're not being approved.

My first guess is that it would count as a screen capture, probably deemed as technically inferior to the finished artwork itself.

I usually just upload the finished piece and link to the stream recording or timelapse in the description.

Is there/should there be a process_available type metatag to indicate an image has something like that?

Might be too volatile. VODs and livestream replays have a tendency to disappear after a bit of time, especially on Twitch, resulting in the tag being valid initially but becoming invalid and needing manual checking and removal over time (moreso than normal sources).

Could it work better with youtube links?

Some artists either stream directly there or repost their twitch stream onto youtube.

The process of art being made is largely irrelevant to the site (though we do allow sketches and unfinished animations/renders provided that they meet other quality guidelines), so an artist streaming the creation of a piece, for one probably wouldn't fit in the 100MB limit, and for two would probably be deleted for not being relevant.
