Topic: How do you think a furry universe would work?

Assuming a world of anthropomorphic animals is identical to ours, how do you think their world would differ from ours? (Ex:food, use of animal products like leather, species specific occupations such as police search dogs, occupations/activities like fishing, farming, hunting, taxidermy, etc)

I imagine it a lot like beastar tbh, the biggest problem would most likely be “what are we gonna eat” now that every animal is, you know, conscious.
Bojack horseman explained it by having a “separate specie” of chickens, that were simply raised to be then used as food, so drugged and made, you could say, less conscious.
But in Beastars there’s a real black market, and the main distinction in the society is that of herbivores and carnivores, it’s definitely one of the most real and “human” (better say “animal” lol) representation of an animal world we have o think, others like zootopia pretty much gloss over the absurd implications, which is ok, it’s still kids media lol.
I think that animals selling their produces would make the most sense, like cows selling milk and hens selling eggs and stuff, but it’s a big question how it would be “automated”
It would pretty funny that certain animal specific jobs would be virtually the same, like adult dogs being trained to smell stuff, I think that world would super fun tho lol

The fact that many animals can only eat other animals (often preferring those animals still living) makes me believe it'd be near anarchy at best and be more or less tribal. At worst predators would farm prey species as food or prey species would decide who would be eaten by lottery (which likely wouldn't see everyone getting equal odds) if there was some degree of cohabitation. Of course predators also often don't get along and some predatory species (ex. foxes) would also be eaten by those higher up the food chain (ex. wolves). Even if there could somehow be relative peace interspecies tensions would be astronomical.

I think it unlikely that any sort of "advanced" civilization could exist.

I guess it depends on how close they are to their real animal counterparts. If they were the same as us humans, not much would be different. But if it was something like Beastars, where they still mostly keep their animal traits, everything becomes a lot more complicated.

A cross between Forgotten Realms (aka. D&D) and Beastars.

Obviously neither are a perfectly fleshed out setting, but its the best you can get without investing millions of dollars and decades of time.
