Cabbit is a species from Tenchi Myou. So that one needs to be kept; though it probably should only be tagged for that species, instead of all fictional cat/rabbits.

Whether or not we change the way fake hybrids are tagged, we might as well use the more common name to keep them in one place. I'd agree with this one.

It seems like the Tenchi Myou version of the species is only a handful out of hundreds of cabbit posts, so I went ahead and approved this.

If anyone is interested in tagging the Tenchi Myou species, I think cabbit_(tenchi_myou) would be more appropriate for this use, and it could probably even imply cabbit.

If Jackalope is allowed because of it's mythical status, Cabbit's should be as well. stories of cat/rabbit hybrids go as far back as 1700s. The concept does not originate from that old anime, but is a good reason to keep the tag none the less.

I can totally understand the will to abolish a bunch of stupid hybrid names, but this one is a bit on the fence. Cabbits are a very old concept, unlike some random teenager's made up hybrid species. the concept of the cabbit is not nearly as old or as popular as the jackalope, But is it not interesting rabbit babies are also called "kittens"? Does the mythological history of the cabbit not grant it rights to it's own tag?

Please forgive me for digging up a 6 year old post, This change always bothered me. Out of randomness I decided to look for a place to say something. I don't really expect the tag's status to change, just thought it was right to say something. Honestly, I expected someone to say something sooner.
