I hope it's okay to post this, I didn't even know the forums were here until tonight.
So I've only been searching for about a decade (obviously not at all well) and I've no idea whatsoever where to go to commission nsfw Art. I see "commissions" posted all the time but I have no idea who drew them and when it does say who drew them, I've no idea how to go about commissioning them myself. One friend linked me to y!Gallery but they have rules against the kinda stuff I'm looking to comission. You can occasionally see artists taking commission on DA but they rarely have their comission info where you can find it.
Where do people find nsfw furry and zoophillia artists?

Please be polite. I know I'm probably an imbecile for not having been able to figure this out by now, but I'm really horrible at googling things in a way to get answers, and I'm just pretty slow at using the Internet in general. If it's not spelled out for me, I probably won't be able to figure it out.

You need a character reference sheet, too, if you don't already have one.

In my experience, it's tough to find artists for commissions.
Randomly browsing FA doesn't seem like a good idea. Most half-way decent artists are either inactive or busy.

But I've had most luck stalking the artists on twitter and tumblr. Many tend to post on those if they have open commission slots, although those usually get grabbed within minutes. Kind of a problem if you're in a bad timezone, like I am. I've followed some for years, without any luck.

There are some active artists here on e621 as well, though they're fairly few and far between. One shining example is one of our very own admins, Ratte. If you find an artist you like commenting or posting here it may behoove you to check their user page.
And asking for recommendations is totally ok! Many here have commissioned artists in the past and would be happy to point you in the direction of their favorite artists.

Like Tokaido said, a few users here--Tokaido and myself included--post here fairly often. It can't hurt to touch bases with an artist you like by sending them a message, and recommendations here or on other outlets like r/furry aren't out of the question.

this could be something else to check, maybe. regardless of quality, not all artists are "good". granted i've never had any commissions done myself but it never hurts to keep an eye out for that kind of stuff should you ever want to get a commission done some day.

Do you watch artists on NSFW sites if your looking for nsfw commissions? You'll see a journal or picture that says "commissions open" http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/6799466/, or "Your Character Here". Artists accept commissions at cons. If you want something simple a few artist take requests during streams.
