Topic: New Mobile Browser changes are unintuitive and intentionally awful

Posted under General

I barely post on this forum. I regularly lurk on the forums. The changes to mobile browse usage, IE creating posts, navigating forums, and general use of forums are all awful changes. This isn't coming from a "change is bad" perspective. This is coming from a "navigation takes more steps and is less intuitive" perspective. This already dictatatorial set of community moderators has decided to make unecessary changes that benefit themselves, and make it more difficult for the community they moderate to provide valid feedback. None of these changes are good for the community. Things like creating a new post now take multiple steps that didn't exist before. Things like sorting favorites now require manual inputs that didn't exist before. This is a classic example of trying to fix what wasn't broken before and and the only group of people that benefit from this are a handful of terminally online moderators that benefit from user engagement being inhibited. These changes are unnecessary and have not contributed to a better experience for the average user.

The forums haven't changed, posting hasn't changed, navigation hasn't changed, favourites haven't changed (admittedly I haven't used it either, but i'm pretty sure nothing has changed).

It's mainly the profiles (which haven't had any functionality removed) that's been recently modified. This seems out of the blue. (This is a stretch, but) Did you turn off mobile mode support?

Though if you're talking about the text size being far too big you can add
.styled-dtext { font-size: unset }
to your custom css

It is a bit cynical to assume that moderators are doing that on purpose to 'inhibit user engagement', don’t you think? I actually use mobile all the time, and the only change I’ve noticed recently is the profile page is kinda janky on mobile mode now. Everything else works the same way it always has.

Shouldn't it be less jank, since it no longer extends off screen?
