Damn. I wasn't really a fan of his work, but it's awful to lose someone so influential to the fandom. I remember when James Hardiman died, it took a while to believe it, and this hits just as hard. Rest in peace, Doug, and we will all miss you.

Winger's art always reminded me of a cartoony version of Gideon (or really the other way around). His furry art dates back to at least 1993 and has apparently done a ton of graphics work for big companies.

I never cared for the art, but I'm gonna miss him.

His art was one of the first things I surfed through when I first learned about e621. I can't quite say that I mourned for him, but I deeply wish I could've had the opportunity to converse with him at least once.
