Topic: I'm not sure if its just me...

Posted under General

Like I said, I'm not sure if its just me (I've tested it across several browsers at several different computers at my house), but other pages don't seem to have a problem loading (such as everybody's favorite Google).

Anyway, back on topic, before I start monologuing, I've noticed e621 has been... painfully slow at times (more often than not), I can click a link or type in a URL and it takes forever to load. I'm pleased to see no more 500 errors, but I am wondering if this is a "me" problem, or a "not me" problem. I won't complain, I'm getting porn for free in one, easy to use, easy to search place, but I would like to know.

I really hope its not a problem on my end, but I'd be ok with it if it is. xD

I'm on at multiple times a day, it's been slow twice, and I believe at least we've repaired it. now if it's continuing to be slow (We've been testing running the index at 1.2 seconds, twice as fast as any of our competitors during full load) then let me know where you are, (city) and give me the results of a ping and a speed test to phoenix AZ, USA. Thank you.

I'll get right on that (to answer one part of your question, I'm in Lynchburg, VA), I'm heading out the door in a few moments, so it won't be until later when I'll be able to get your Speedtest to you. I thank you for your speedy and polite response. Have a pleasant afternoon.

Ah, thank you again for your responses. Please keep up the good work on continuing to make e621 a pleasant place to frequent.

I heard about that, from what I understand several furry websites were hit at the same time (pretty much). Fenoxo.com was hit as well.

Yeah, worst part is, BD and e621 were on the same switch and both were targeted, best part is.. >.> We were still trudging through two simultaneous DDOS attacks. So theirs that <3 Either way, we are looking into further ddos proofing ourselves, as well as furthering the server capacity <3 and this is in the immediate section.

So, it's okay to have ddos attacks? Or just some to make a server ddos-proof? Also, y u so lovely? <3

We aren't immune, nothing is, but we are resistant, reason we got trudged to a crawl, but were still up, thousands of users per second plus a ddos and our not even completed system was able to handle it <3 we are looking into more measures so we don't have to be reduced to a crawl.
Cause gryph <3
