Topic: Clicking on Resolution no longer resizes image?

Posted under General

Not sure if this is a bug or feature and didn't see another thread on it, But when you click on the resolution next to SIZE the image no longer jumps between the current 'fit' size and the original size like it used to. Not sure at this point whether it's related to the update or browser. Using FireFox here.

CTRL+F5
will clear you right up.

I've had the same problem for a few days now. Refreshing does nothing. Clearing cache and cookies works for just a few pages. Because it will work when I first get to the site but by the time I log back in it often is back to no longer resizing properly when you click on the full original resolution. Maybe something to do with being logged out vs being logged in though I've not tested that. Flushing DNS also solves it temporarily but again only for a few page loads. It does seem to last longer than just a cache/cookies though. But then it's back to not working again so it's hardly a fix. Happened in both chrome and firefox.

So, I just open the full resolution link into a new tab now instead. It's a workaround but at least it works. I have no idea why it doesn't work on the same page like it used to. My guess is some really tiny glitch that'd be hard to pin down. It's a pain, but as long as I can still get to the full original image size then I'm happy.

Isn't clearing the cache the same just "globally"?

Tried the CTRL-F5. It does nuthink.

Everything is working fine on my end, and there isn't anything.. strange in your account data that would do that. The only thing I can think of is your ISP has cached the file incorrectly so it's breaking.. and that's slim

I hate to have to say this but that still doesn't make it work. I just went ahead and tried it again to make sure. I was hopeful. CTRL + F5 several times but it still won't resize on the page to the full original resolution when I click the "full size" link. It won't even acknowledge that I told it to do so. As if the page coding got broken for that function. But you said it works for you, so yeah I have no answers.

The weird thing is, that when the page loads I can actually see it loading the full size of the image first for a split second, and then it resizes it normally as the page formatting kicks in and the page looks normal. So it's obviously able to find it. But when trying to get it to resize on the page it refuses to change sizes. And I can use the same "full size" link to load just the image into a new tab and it loads the full original resolution for me that way with no problems. So the link itself is ok.

I don't know if any of that helps. I just know the whole thing sounds frustrating all around. Like I said, I've just been using a workaround. I can't imagine being on the other end of this and trying to fix a glitch you can't see. Wish I could be more help.

Exactly the same here. Tried clearing my browser cache, Doing the CTRL-F5 thing, Releasing and renewing all my DHCP and crap in the router, Repairing all connections before and after and even physically resetting the router. Nothing. And the same behaviour.

Just as pickle's experiencing, I can see everything loading full size a split second before it shoves it back down to browser size. The onyl way to get a full size link is a 'copy image location' then posting that link in the address bar but this is still more of a work-around than anything.

I don't know if my setup has anything to do with it, But I do have a dualscreen setup, And both are running at 1024x768. The only thing I can think of is my resolution or hardware somehow contributing.

EDIT: Still better than support on most corporate pages at any rate. I have every faith you guys can fix this. :3

Yeah it doesn't work at all. I'll look into it.

And slow loading.

Committed a quick-and-dirty fix to make it work again. It'll be in the next update, whenever that is.

To clarify, this only broke if you're using the "Resize images" option, not "Show image samples".

Basically, clicking the Size link was never intended to resize images shrunk using the "Resize images" option, but due to a minor oversight, it worked anyway. With the server changes that happened a few days ago, it went back to working as intended, which means it stopped resizing "Resize images"-shrunk images. I submitted a really quick fix to make it work again.

Sounds great, and thank you for looking into it! I'll keep my eyes open for whenever it kicks in and starts working again. And that's interesting to know what was going on underneath the hood so-to-speak. Makes sense. Thanks again.

Thanks, Will be keeping an eye out for the changes.

So if I understand you right the original behaviour was an unintentional feature? <g>

A useful one nontheless for us low resolution monitor people tho!
