Topic: What happened Friendship is Magic the comic?

Posted under Off Topic

For those of you who are wondering what happened to the comic Friendship is Magic, or "La Magia de la Amistad", Ippiki ookami deleted most of them since he doesn't like human related posts on this site.

As a result I have resolved to start posting these on a different site called 20%cooler, so for those of you who want to keep on reading the comic, I suggest you go here.

I don't care for MLP, but I have a friend who recently became a brony, and just as a joke to shock him, I want to show him that site that is basically the mlp only version of e621. Except I forgot what it was called... Would it by any chance be this site that you mentioned?

Yes it is, 20pc.org is our sister site in that it uses the same software.

And Darkness, every non-furry image is at the total whims of whatever admin gets to it first, we concentrate on furry artwork after all so having it deleted was a real possibility from the very beginning.

Pardon me, but I really think that this rule should be updated to take pools into account. Now we have comic in the pool that have posts that contains feral mlp characters, but with few not-furry pages cut out by admin. It is IMO stupid: either delete whole comic, or accept all pages.

Does that mean that, theoretically, some admin could delete post #319189, and leave comic without this page?

Oh fuck me, really? Going to delete the Equestria Girls stuff next? "Humanized" alone has 24 pages. "Human solo" has 42. You keep yelling at me every time I comment that I need to be constructive. I've tried: I want some gods-be-damned consistency.

People keep saying it's impossible to be consistent because it's so subjective. Well, it's not a binary toggle: Be as consistent as possible, and let the actual grey area fend for itself. This website needs about 90% less "whichever mod gets to it first".

You want consistency, yes, we know.

Please explain your ideas for how we actually can achieve this goal. Saying "I want consistency" or "this site needs to be more consistent" isn't constructive criticism, it's a demand.

We're humans too, just like you. We don't always have all the answers, so we're more than happy to hear your own suggestions for how to actually make things more consistent, like you're wanting.

You're king of e621 for a day Foobaria, what do you do?

As for the comic, I agree it's silly to delete a few human pages out. If we're going to allow the comic at all, we need to allow it in its entirety, assuming it doesn't just completely change its style and content at some point.

Come to a decision as a whole of how to treat certain high-controversy style of images, perhaps? Instead of it being possible to do a "Eh, I'm in a shitty mood, deny.", or "I don't like this stuff, so denied." (Which admittedly I haven't seen anywhere near as much of as a few years back, so kudos on that), put a set rule in. Yea or nay, having a definitive is better than being wishy-washy and allowing whomever gets to it first to decide, because it gives a consistant, stable platform upon which to stand and hold ground on (Precedent) with the bonus of less hurt feelings (like that really matters though, right? :P)

Could you please talk to Ippiki ookami about this? I tried resoning with him myself but he didn't seem to care, even when the comic pages were approved by another admin he still deleted them.

This is the reason that when I post comics I avoid posting the one's with humans/humanized characters. It's annoying when you post a comic only to have some pages deleted. I agree with what Gilda The Gryphon said. If there's a pool with the majority of the pages that has feral/anthro characters and only few pages with non-furry characters, the pages with the non-furry should be kept for the consistency of the comic. Unless there are over a certain amount of pages like, uh lets say 8-10 in a row or 10-14 separated between the pages with feral/anthro.

Darkness, please message me with relevant posts and any information I need so I can take care of this. It's not Char's job to rein in the admins anymore.

As for comics, I can certainly get behind having an image spared because it was part of a comic instead of having it stand on its own merits. To this, I ask you, if there is an image that is part of a comic and gets deleted, and the rest of the comic is intact, let me know and I'll reinstate it.

How about a double check? Two separate Admins are required to approve a post, or not...
I think the systems fine, don't hurt me Der Kommissar...
