It's fine. The limit is 15000x15000.

What if the file size is 57.6 MB?

What file format?
Consider saving a jpeg version if you haven't already, and comparing the size.

You should run an optimizer over it. That should remove some useless data and/or compress it even more.

Try with PNGOptimizer

I try using the PNGOptimizer, still over the 50 MB limit. (Only went down about four percent)

Does saving the .png as a .jpg decrease the quality of the picture?

12500x10080?

Je-sus.

I mean, it's true that bigger is considered better here, but I really fail to see the point of resolutions that high.
What am I supposed to do, fap to someone's kneecap?

All you'll get here is a 50 MB image that takes hours to load whenever the site has one of its (frequent) slowdowns, and once you inevitably hit the resize button isn't any more detailed than one that was uploaded at a reasonable size without quality loss.

I'm speaking generally here by the way, not saying the image the OP refers to shouldn't be any bigger, since that one's actually fairly small. But ten times its current size would be overkill, let's be honest.

This particular artist has mentioned that while they're all for their art being posted around with credit, they prefer the full size one not be.

Those of you posting my art on various sites like e621 and derpibooru, first of all, thank you for spreading my art; second, please upload the re-sized version. My original file is massive and some people can't view the artwork when it's 11k in size! XD The resized version on DA is just fine, and if people wanted the high res. files then they can choose to download it from here, on DA.

Maybe. There won't be too much loss if you save it with 90% quality. Btw, is the original source file? Edit: Nevermind. What Nyteshade said... /Edit

Better yet, their elbow or, if you're adventurous, play bull's eye and try hitting right on the spot :P

If the artist doesn't want the full size to be posted anywhere else, I'm not going to do it then.
