Topic: Tag suggestion: unknown_editor (editer?)

Posted under General

We have unknown_artist and unknown_colorist.
How about an unknown_editor / unknown_editer tag?
(not sure what the correct spelling is)

This would also make it clearer that something *is* an edit, because the edit tag is easy to overlook.
Though once you find the editor/editer and tag them, this advantage disappears.

I like this idea. And maybe can have _(editor) form of the name if the editor is identified, to keep the credit clear once they are identified.

I can see Peekaboo's point. But honestly if someone edited my work, I'd want that mentioned on it so that they can take some of the blame. Especially if I didn't fully appreciate how they changed it, I'd want some distinction from my original version. But even if I loved someone's edit of my work, I still wouldn't want sole credit, just because taking credit for an edit I didn't do wouldn't seem fair either. I'd still want it clear that they only edited it, not collaborated or helped make it originally though. So an _(editor) suffix should suffice and keep it clear of who did what without stealing any credit due to the artist. And since most edits have an unknown_editor, then that tag would probably be used the most anyways.

I've done a few edits, but I don't think tagging editors would be a good idea, in my opinion it would take away some of the credit going to the original artist.

Some edits can require just as much effort as the original artist put in, though.
