Is it possible to be added to the DNP list? If so, how can someone add themselves to it?
Asking because a friend of mine found his character on here and doesn't want him on the site.

Greetings!
We only allow artists on our DNP List, if he has art of his character on here he'll need to file a take down request for it, and will have to repeat that every time somebody uploads something again.
Also, I just processed your requests so I'll save you the boring explanation on how to file one, just make sure he sends the vericode and I'll take a look at it.

As NotMeNotYou said, we don't allow characters on the Avoid Posting list, but I feel it's important to understand why:
The thing about the Avoid Posting list is we have to, somehow, be able to actually recognize when artwork has been uploaded that should be deleted for being DNP material. Mostly we depend on our tag implication system handling this, meaning that whenever artwork from an artist on the DNP list is tagged with that artist's name, it's automatically tagged with "avoid_posting" too, which makes it easy for our admins to find and delete if it needs to be.
This is a problem for characters because characters (particularly original furry characters) aren't tagged nearly as often as artists are, and so e621 can't make a reasonable guarantee that these images will be deleted, because it's unlikely we'd notice the images to begin with.
Additionally, characters can be bought and sold between furs, and we have no way of knowing if the fur that owns the character now wants to uphold the DNP-request that the last owner of the character asked for. They may not be aware that the character was ever even asked to be DNP on e621.
Thirdly, characters sometimes have the same names, which makes it even more difficult in determining which posts should be deleted and which ones shouldn't.
I'm sure there are other reasons that I'm not recalling off the top of my head, but the short answer is that we don't allow characters on the DNP list because it'd basically be impossible to actually manage it reliably. We're not going to give people the expectation that we can keep their character off of the site if it's not actually possible for us to do so right now.

Alrighty then! The requests I sent were for my own character I found on here. Thank you for handling it :)
