There are plenty of artists whose work gets posted here who have difficulty with the English language. Some of them don't live in anglophone countries (e.g., Argentina or Japan) while others might be native English speakers who just never mastered the rules of the language.
This isn't news, nor is it interesting. What for me to make this, though, was the griping I sometimes see in comments on pictures, comics especially, that contain badly mangled English to the effect that "poor English diminishes my enjoyment of this artwork".
Really? Maybe I'm biased, since I'm bilingual and have often had to try to interpret broken English all my life, so I find it much easier. I also work with a mix of South Asian immigrants and uneducated Americans, so I hear this kind of language abuse all the time in my work life. But seriously, you don't come to this site for the Queen's English, you come for the pretty pictures... And I bet you can figure out what the artist intends to convey, in his or her broken English, without too much effort.
An I alone in thinking it's churlish to complain that someone who's not a native speaker of your language, yet is making an effort to reach you with his content, is using your language poorly?
