So, on December 27, 2013 at 5:00 in the morning, my 2nd cousin was found dead in his bedroom upstairs in my uncle's house. Sadly, he was his first son, and his first child, so he is devastated and my father is a mess. The worst part is, I was one of the last people to see him alive. I last saw him on Christmas. I don't understand why this has happened.

My grandma died Christmas day last year, I know how you feel. It's awful, but don't let it ruin the holidays for you.

So, this Saturday, there will be a memorial service for him since he is being cremated.

I'm so sorry man. This probably isn't the best place to come for sympathy, but you have mine.

So, I suppose it's time for an update. My mother and I went to the memorial service on Saturday. There were a lot of family members we haven't seen in a very long time and some people I'd never met before.

I lost my brother in a similar way; we believe he took his own life (because reasons) but there's no way to truly know.

And it's been three and a half years and we still haven't finished picking up the pieces, we've just continued living.

It's probably going to be hard, but remember that those people who loved and cherished you before still feel the same way. Let them know you feel the same way about them. Relationship ties are what can help you and your family stay afloat through difficult times like these.

Not really. Mostly concern for someone who has suffered something like this. To find a loved one dead without cause is far worse than knowing for sure what the cause was.
