Did you know that Funky Kong is Donkey Kong's brother and is half monkey with an amputated tail? This may also mean Funky Kong is Diddy Kong's father as Diddy is Donkey's nephew and he is a monkey instead of an ape.

Ooh, how about this - The Koopa kids were originally all Bowsers offspring. However more recently (I think for Super Mario 3D land) Nintendo did a ret-con and stated that only Bowser Jr. is Bowser's kid. The others are now just kinda generals in Bowsers koopa army.

Huh. Does that mean Bowser promotes child soldiers?

[EDIT] In both the case of Bowser Jr. and the Koopa kids, the mother remains unknown. Bowser spent a good chunk of Super Mario Sunshine that Princess Peach was Jr.s mom, but eventually withdrew this statement by the end of the game.
I'm inclined to think he might have just been covering his ass for failing to 'secure' her again, because he sure as hell never had eyes for anyone else! Poor lovesick turtledragonthing.

No official source has yet confirmed a direct familial relationship between them.
The most that has been said is that they share a grandfather.
Everything else is simply fan speculation.

Given Cranky only had one son, it should go without saying that, if they share the same Grandfather, they are brothers.
