Just wanted to rant a little bit about something I noticed.
I'm a casual browser of e621, have been for a long time; I don't partake too much on the forums. But I do tend to view most of the images that are posted each day. Last night as I was browsing I stumbled upon post #261180 and had a feeling that I've seen it before. Sure enough after a quick search of my favorites I found the original posting of the image. After doing a quick side by side comparison I had not seen any differences between the images so I flagged the newer post for deletion and linked the old post number. Now it was late in the evening and I had forgotten to check a crucial detail; The resolution of the images; They appeared to be the same resolution when rendered on my browser, but I did not check the actual numbers so I may have been wrong at flagging the newer post. Assuming I was correct though and that both of the images where exactly the same we could assume that the newer image would be deleted. However as it turns out post #261180 was not deleted and its original post was deleted.
Now like I said; I could be wrong and there could of been a difference between the images I didn't notice making the older inferior. But that aside what I would really like to rant about is the fact that the original image was on my favorites list and is no longer there as it has been deleted.
Your probably thinking, well hell its one image just re-add the new one and shut up. I'd just like to run the concept that if every image was re-posted and had the originals deleted; Everyone's favorites list would be empty. Now it's not really a big deal, its just a favorites list after all, we'll all live if they suddenly disappears; but it's the idea that counts.
All ranting aside, I think there should be a system in place that allows users to see which of their favorites were delete and also see the reason for it (for this example the link to the newer post)
