Topic: Re-uploading

Posted under General

So, I really dont mean to start up a shit storm, but I know this very well may cause it.

As most people know, different images will get deleted by an admin who sees them and determines whether the image is relevant to the site or not. If so, then it is accepted. If not, then it is deleted.

I would like to know: if said image is deleted by an admin/moderator because it is deemed irrelevant, does said image get permanently deleted/banned from the site.

Or should the said imaged just be uploaded again over and over until a different mod/admin accepts it?

Despite the admin roulette nature of it all, yes, if it denied once, do not try again, as a general rule

Is that an implied "rule" or something that is actually written in the site?

Indeed, do not try to re-upload it

I saw that post and will handle the re-uploading part with the user, but still not okay to flag it for that

"Posting Abuse

This category includes:

Knowingly uploading previously deleted content "

from https://e621.net/wiki/show?title=e621%3Arules

So ya, if it was put down once that is usually it =/

Shame, I know the pic and it was well drawn, if completely human :P

Edit: Ah, RD is fast (no surprise I guess)

I really dont mean to be disrespectful, but I have to call out the elephant in the room...

Would this image have been accepted after it was already deleted by another admin if it wasnt MLP related? Is special treatment being given by a MLP admin to MLP related art?

All admins should be on the same page in regards to acceptable medium or not. We are trying to reduce the "admin roulette" as you said it.

That being said, if you feel an image was taken down in error, or you disagree with the reason it was taken down, you are more than welcome to contact me or the management staff for a second opinion.

No one genre gets special treatment over any other.

It was probably approved because the approver didn't realize it was already deleted at the time.

Negative. I had flagged it for deletion due it being deleted by you only minutes before it was re-uploaded. Said admin told me that my flag was improper and proceeded to accept the image.

If anything, I think this shows how much more there should be control over acceptance and denial rather than "admin roulette".

It's not a perfect system, but it works well most of the time and is always improving.

Besides all that, the software rejects identical artwork from being uploaded. So someone can't just upload the exact same thing 10 times and hope for different responses..

Well, you actually can do that, in a way.
Renaming the file or saving as another file type than the original deleted image will do the trick.

Or simply adding a byte to the end of image with hex editor. :3
