Topic: On tagging characters with common first names

Posted under General

There seems to be an issue in which characters with common first names get grouped together, even when they are not the same character.

I'm going to use some Naylor characters for example...

The elizabeth tag is mainly elizabeth_black but there is also an elizabeth_black tag that has only one post in it, and there are posts other than the elizabeth from naylor in elizabeth...
So, I'm not sure if we should move all the elizabeth posts from naylor into elizabeth_black because she only becomes that after marriage, and you know outside information and shit like that....which kinda causes an issue...
The fisk vs. fisk_black tag doesn't seem to be a huge issue as we could just use the fisk_black tag.
There's also the beth tag....
I know you could just put jay_naylor+beth or something like that...but still, when you get to a name like bob or something...well....i dunno.

Presently there seems to be no actual rule for this sort of thing. Tagging techniques that are in use:
