Topic: The vehicle discussion thread

Posted under Off Topic

Okay, so there are probably a few car enthusiasts on e621 other than me. I thought this would be a good thread to discuss vehicles in real life or in video games. This is the place to discuss your favorite vehicles or vehicles you don't like. This isn't a forum game, just a discussion thread.

It's amazing. I'm hoping that someone will eventually make a diecast replica of the tanker truck from the movie. AutoArt made an amazing 1/18 scale replica of the V8 Interceptor. I wish I could afford it.

I thoroughly enjoyed driving a car through an anomaly on stalker

Well I forget the name but it's the green jeep with the roof that I'd like to turn my jeep cherokee into with some paint

I totes wish they sold Falcon XBs like that in North America, with the steering wheel on the left. I would buy one of those in a heartbeat.

You can totally own one of those legally, depending on where you live. There's a guy who lives in my state, Illinoism who made a replica of the Mad Max Interceptor with an RHD Falcon.

I've driven all kinds of cars, shitty rentals to supercars. I've got to say, the most fun I've had in any car was my personally modded '65 VW bug. There is nothing, absolutely nothing, more satisfying than wiping the smile off some Camero when you leave him in your dust.

I remember I was racing my dad in my bug and he had a Jaguar (later gave it to me when he moved out of state). It was a half mile to the next light, and we took off. He would later tell me that, after he floored it and saw me disappear, he was wondering if his car was moving at all.

Then his car hit second gear and he had zero trouble catching up to me. It WAS a Jaguar after all.

Still, I've had more fun in my bug than any other car. Takes corners at 60mph, fits into ANY parking spot, better fuel mileage than a hybrid, ridiculously cheap parts...

Tthere's also this thing when you drive a bug. When you're going down the road and you see another bug, you just became friends. You wave, he waves back excitedly. Everyone else is just driving their cars, but you have an ally on your side. God help if some asshole cuts you off at that moment, because he now has to contend with two people.

Anyway, I'm done hijacking thread. PEACE.

I had a friend that owned a 1957 Ford Fairlane hardtop convertible. One of my favorite places to go is the Volo auto museum in Volo, IL. On my most recent trip there, I spotted a DeLorean on my way home as well as a Citroen DS.

I love my 2013 Ford Fiesta.

Those are such fun little cars. I'd love to have an Aussie muscle car some day, but they're expensive as hell to import.

Edit: A bit off-topic, but congrats to Patchi and Husky for your account upgrades!

Hey...Mazda's are best cars

EDIT: @JoeX thank you :)

You're welcome! Yeah, I'd love a first-gen RX7 or a Mazda Cosmo. An RX8 can be sick, too, with or without mods.

My '96 Mustang GT gets 31 mpg, with a 4.6L V8 5 speed, unless I let my foot get heavy. The only thing I don't like is, I can only drive it about half the year. During the winter, I'm stuck driving an '04 Dodge Intrepid. 2.7L, dual overhead cam. At best, 26 mpg, and the damn thing has so little torque, I need to crank it up to 4000+ rpm just to maintain speed up some hills

My father had a Seat Malaga and threw a 180 PS Porsche Engine into it. Good times.

But it was needed, we were rather often travelling into mountains and having to push a vehicle fully loaded with a family of 5 and travel things for two weeks vacation wasn't exactly pleasant with anything below that.

I saw a Porsche 993 Turbo today. Man, it had a great exhaust note.

I had a phase for several years in high school when I was very interested in cars. To make a long story short, I eventually felt more and more like a poser rather than a true enthusiast until I finally quit the hobby as if it were an obsession.

I was big into car photography with my digital camera when those became a thing. I wanted to collect lots of samples of vehicular distinctiveness like insignias, emblems, hood ornaments, peculiar body designs, and other touches. I took over 5000 pictures at the time, which certainly took a while to accumulate. It's too bad my city had very little in the way of supercars, even the $80 000+ variety, and "tuners" since they were my favorite subjects. Seriously... the only legit supercars we had in the public eye were a red Ferrari 360 Spider and yellow Lamborghini Murcielago that were both owned by some guy running an illegal pharmaceutical ring lol. Overabundance of muscle cars, though.

My best photographs came from a local World of Wheels car show featuring a Chip Foose Riddler winner that I happened to see on TV earlier (it was pristine); a Wheels of Italy car show in Minneapolis; two Toronto dealerships; and a tuner car show in Chicago. The Toronto dealerships though... one was an unsuspecting Lexus dealership in downtown that didn't let me takes pictures inside. Quite upscale. They had a Saleen S7 :). The other one was a Ferrari dealership that was an absolute goldmine. Not only was the place packed with newer Ferraris, they also had a large back lot full of customer cars running the gamut, and a Ferrari Galleria upstairs. The galleria had an excellent model from the 60s, a 575M Maranello racing version (1 of 3?), and an Enzo.

Oh... I was entertained for a long time.
