Topic: Sorta medical question, nothing serious just need some advice/knowlege

Posted under Off Topic

Ok so this started...hmm... i think around 2000, considering im 24 dono if its normal or not.
anyway, after eating certain foods, anything with eucalyptus in it, and i THINK sugar alcohol. my throat gets... weird.
I get a sticky, hot sensation, like i swallowed glue almost.
It hasn't hampered any abilities or anything, but...if i had to guess i'd say its an allergic reaction and my throat is swelling?
just wondering if thats what it is, if any of you guys have the same thing. Ive googled it several times, never gets anywhere...

I think you're right, it probably has some association with an allergic reaction. I'd think the best advice for you would be to seek professional assistance. Ask your doctor (I feel like I'm in one of those commercials) first, then try to find a local allergist to identify any problems (The link might answer some of your questions). Hope that helps out a bit.

Going to go with the crowd. This sounds like a mild allergic reaction. Go see your general practitioner and get an opinion.

Throat swelling by certain foods?

That reminds me..... Anaphylaxis shock?
But anyways recommend with the other posts above me.
Good luck.

Same here, allergic reaction triggered by certain fruitsugar types, mostly citrusfruits.

My mom has it in a really hard way, she can't eat certain types of citrusfruits without risking to asphyxiate.
Interestingly enough, any form of cooking will break the fruit sugar down and make it edible for her.

Allergies can come and go, you can contract them like everything else.
Entirely depends on your genetics and your environment.

You could always let me have a look at you.
I've always wanted a test subject...

God help me, I can't make that sound mad-doctory; it just comes out rapey-sounding.

On the contrary, I like this site.

Jokes aside, I don't know exactly how you feel, but I have allergies to airborne pollutants, and more seriously, from 7 till 17, I've struggled with severe asthma.
