Topic: What are your most anticipated video games for 2014?

Posted under Off Topic

The title says it all, really. I'll start us off.

1) Dying Light
Genre(s): survival horror, first-person, sandbox, action
Platforms: PlayStation 3
PlayStation 4
Xbox One
Xbox 360
Microsoft Windows

This one is at the top of my list because it looks amazing. It was made by the developers of Dead Island and Dead Island: Riptide. It's a zombie game, but it's very different. At night, the zombies become far more dangerous. They are able to hear and see you much easier at night. There are some mutations that only appear at night.

2) Watch Dogs
Genre(s): action, adventure, third-person, sandbox
Platforms: Microsoft Windows
PlayStation 3
PlayStation 4
Wii U
Xbox 360
Xbox One

I suppose you could call this a "cyberpunk Grand Theft Auto." It's a sandbox action game in which you are able to hack several of Chicago's electronic systems, including retracting pylons, allowing you to destroy pursuing vehicles.

3) GTA V High Life Update.

Okay, this may be cheating a bit, but with four new vehicles, a new assault rifle and God knows what else, this will be an amazing DLC.

Watch Dogs is being delayed to 2015, I thought?

Most anticipated game already released for me, Dark Souls II.

Actually, it's Tom Clancy's The Division that has been pushed to 2015. They're by the same developer. Watch Dogs is set for release next month, but that may change.

Dragon Age: Inquisition
Halo 2 anniversary (Rumored)
Destiny
Aliens Isolation
Halo: XBox One (Could be Halo 5. Could be a Halo without Master Chief like Reach)
Sniper Elite III
Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor
Star Citizen
Tales from the Borderlands
Kingdom Under Fire II (If you never played KUF then you're missing out)
Armored Warfare
Dying Light

Welp, I'm not gunna look any more up...

Tales from the Borderlands

Same developer is making a Game of Thrones game.

Yep. Telltale. They also made the Walking Dead game.

I haven't played The walking Dead yet, but I will. I know it's full of feels.

Humm. Yeah, it's early days but there's a few.

Watch Dogs is also pretty high on my list. I just really hope it's about being really clever and thinking ahead, rather than shooting people in the face a lot.

Most anticipated by far is probably Night in the Woods. A delicious little indie title I joined the kickstarter for. Technically not due till early 2015. But look! They have a lil supplemental. Go get it for ALL the feels!

Among the Sleep is another kickstarter that just looks hella awesome. Amnesia style gameplay, but rather than being set far in the past, you play as a two years old babby. The line between what's real and what's imagined is practically non-existent!

Also TellTale's Borderlands game and the very-nearly-upon-us Dark Souls 2 (for PC). Good times!

I'm surprised no one mentioned The Evil Within. It's not something I'll play, because I'm terrible at survival horror, but it looks incredible.

Only one: Borderlands The Pre-Sequel !
You can play Claptrap! *squee*

Probably Warlords of Draenor, or The Sims 4. (I'm very boring.)

Diablo 3 Reaper of Souls
Mugen Souls Z

Also, a game that's new to me, but just came out that I'm really having fun with, Conception 2: Children of the Seven Stars.
It's a RPG with some dating sim type elements, one of the main mechanics is you create your party of characters by "Classmating" with one of 7 female characters and creating "Star Children".
It's a bit perverted, without going over the line into pornographic.
Check it out if you like RPGs.

But ESO is already out and awesome.

Besides that, I'm really looking forward to Super Smash Brothers for 3DS, didn't get a chance to play any of the previous titles since the good old 64 days.

I don't pay much attention to upcoming games, since I already have a few hundred on my playlist. Hadn't even heard about Legend of Grimrock 2, but now that I have...definitely looking forward to that.

Other than that, I'm just waiting for the kickstarter games that are supposed to come out this year. UnderTale, Torment: Tides of Numenera, Project Eternity, Sui Generis, War for the Overworld, Dreamfall Chapters: The Longest Journey, Divinity: Original Sin, Massive Chalice, Worlds of Magic, etc.

Some of those will probably end up being released late, and some might never be released. But I'm glad about how well RPGs and Adventures are doing on Kickstarter. Since AAA companies rarely want to back those.

How about Battlefield, or TitanFall???? Those games will work?? :-)

I played ten hours of it, and it's definitively the worst MMO out of all the ones I've played, and I played quite a few hours of that shitty LOTR MMO, so I should know.

I never understood what people like about it - Me and every single person I've asked have said that it's a horrible piece 'a crap that you'll be paying monthly for in order to experience combat that makes the combat of Skyrim looks like it's crafted by the gods, and a story line, lore and quests that make Barney the Dinosaur out to be as if it was written by Orson Welles.

Lol, I was watching AngryJoe's livestream last night and I'm pretty sure he was saying he didn't like the game either. It's 240$ the first year my friend told me. 180$ every subsequent year. That is a LOT of money imo... That doesn't even include the money for getting the ability to play as Imperials...
Anyways... I can't wait for DA:I and KUFII. I play RPGs mostly.

It got everything I like in a format I enjoy, except other people, these are annoying.
I have played nearly all other big MMO's where the settings looked interesting but most couldn't hold me for longer than a couple days.

Bayonetta 2. 'Nuff said.

The shitty part is that it's Wii-U exclusive.

Yes x.x

Watch Dogs, Destiny, I hope there will be another Bioshock. Hoping Wii U dies and nintedo converts the games to Wii or a system that is actually worth its original price tag. If Destiny turns oyt to be good I will put PS4 in the must have pile.

Irrational Games closed their doors after Burial at Sea Pt 2 :(

Blegh. The last one left a bad taste in my mouth.

The first two were masterpieces. Infinite was... ok.

Well, Irrational didn't make BioShock 2. There could easily be another BioShock coming out. Honestly, I'd love to see Naughty Dog make a BioShock game.

Infinite was "Here's a bland FPS with some slight story" to me. It definitely felt nothing like Bioshock 1 or 2. Don't get me wrong, the background was gorgeously done, and the cocept was very very interesting, it's just the execution that fell flat.

You just described Infinite perfectly.

You came to the right place my good man

My list of anticipated games is long enough to loop around the equator fourteen times. Fact. I've got quite a few, but I think the one I'm most looking forward to is Overgrowth (though I think it's a pipe dream hoping for it to come out any time soon). Gotta love me some anthropomorphic rabbits beatin on each other.
