So a while back I relized that this site has A LOT of options for themes both extra and base so that got me wondering... what are your base and extra themes? mine are

Laptop= Base:Serpent Extra:Aurora
3DS= Base:Hexagon Extra:Space

Before: Bloodlust + Autumn
Eventually got bored so currently I am in
Pony + Space
And if I get bored I'll probably just change back to bloodlust and viceversa, I only like these two.

Bloodlust+ Winter

Hexagon + Winter

Probably gonna switch over to pony+space, I'm getting sick of blue.

I think it is good it brings out the typed text and green is my favorite color and apperently i'm a rarity cause it does not hurt my eyes....

Though it defaults to hex/winter, and used to default to hex/autumn

although half the time it would default to hex/autumn I would have to switch it to hex/winter because timezones and....fuck it, hex/stars

I dislike the neon green. Also not happy that the royal purple them got named "Pony". Avoiding it for that reason, now. :/

Hexagon + Hex Grid here. Other themes are too bright or hi-contrast for my tastes.

I still just use the original theme, hexagon. Gotta have some visual queue what site I'm on.

Well it IS 20pc's theme :/

So why does it need to be named "Pony", either here or there (Though could not care less about it over there; also it wasn't named 'Pony' when it was originally done, as I used to use it all the time- this is a relatively recent change)? Would not "Royalty" suffice, or "Twilight"? Either has the same connotations for the Pony crowd, while having other connotations for those who aren't.

I've seen it called pony ever since these theme things were added, and also, it's just a name dude, if you like the color (like me) use it!, otherwise don't, how does a simple name make you avoid using a theme at all, that is just silly imo :S

When my comp died and I got a replacement and had to relog in and everything, I also checked the themes, and suddenly it's named 'pony'. Stopped using it since. Nothing against MLP, but I want no more of its fandom intruding upon me than it already is.

Pretty sure it's been called Pony ever since we had selectable themes. And I should know, I wrote (or helped write?) the selector :P

When the themes first went in it wasn't called Pony, I know that for fact. ._. I'd never have touched it otherwise.

It was, the selector is very crude, it just pulls a css file from a directory, and that css file was named pony.css , and before that it was just 20pc_default, and that was way before the selector came into play

So, is there an option to lock the theme? It gets tiresome to have to go to the drop-down menu and change it every time I come on.

Sounds like something's clearing cookies. Can be a browser setting or an external cleaning application. Or you're browsing the site in incognito mode (No cookie's saved permanently then).

Yeah, theme is saved in cookies so if your cookies get cleared (which means you'll also be logged out) you'll lose your theme.

That has to be about the silliest reason to not use something. It's literally the theme of the pony version of e621, which is why it is named pony

If it really bothers you that much, download a browser extension that just modifies the user interface and changes that one word to something else

As for the theme not sticking, that just men=ans your cookies are not saving it

So was I, and I coud have sworn it wasn't called Pony before. Maybe it was called that internally, but when I opened the first theme menus available, it didn't say pony. ._.;

Dude, chill. I know how much you hate the phrase but "deal with it". Besides, as many have said, it's just a name. If you relate a word to something you don't like then it's your problem and you might need to reevaluate your dictionary...

Just set it as your theme if you like and forget about it. As long as you're comfortable with the colors, of course. It's not that you have to see the name all the time nor we're trying to shove tiny rainbow-coloured equines down your throat (at least not me), though people say that horse meat tastes good. I dunno, never tried it...

Now, as Dave has said, let's focus on the topic. For example, on my phone (where I'm at right now), I switch between Serpent and Bloodlust (both with Hex Grid). Serpent because it has a very bright color set and sun tends to darken LCD screens so they compensate eachother; and Bloodlust because it's dark and doesn't bright too much, so it's better at dark places

Out of curiosity, why is the default theme still winter when it's spring?

Also, if you guys could make a light grey or white theme, that'd be rad.

that is actually not a bad idea the name could be called something like"Albino" and base would be white quote boxes would be light gray typed text would be red and Dtext could be pink

I was talking about a simple, monochrome theme. Black text, grey and white themes, and standard blue hyperlinks.
