Topic: The Burger Tour

Posted under Off Topic

Yes, that's right folks. Me and some of my teammates are going on a worldwide burger tour. We will roam the world to see which of the choices has the best burger. If you have a restaurant (fast food or not) that you think we should visit, post it here! We can only chose 10 so start suggesting.

FYI: Yes, we will visit other countries. This tour will be a month long, so that we can still tour around the cities and stuff.

Cleveland Ohio, B Spot Burgers.
It's a burger joint opened by Cleveland native Iron Chef Michael Symon.
They have won the award for best burger in america 4 times in the past 5 years at the Sobe Burger Bash, a national competition.

Do it.
(side note, they cook their fries in 100% lard, eat their fries)

If you hit up Winnipeg, Blondie's has a massive burger that you need to call in 24 hours in advance so she can prepare it. It's freaking massive.

Much as I hate to say it, he could probably spend the whole month in Ohio trying fantastic burgers at a new place every day.

Ohio is boring and or ratchet/trashy as hell we have to have one good redeeming quality at least

Good luck on your tour, I have nothing to suggest which is worthy of visiting. Is a month really enough if you're travelling the world too?

You would be astounded how many people who live in both Florida and Ohio. I swear that at least 1 in 30 license plates on the highway is a Florida plate.

Unfortunately, a month is the only free time we have together :/

Certainly, but in Ohio out of state plates are about 90% Florida and 10% other states.
I saw a Hawaii plate once, that threw me off.

lol flordia is like the least common i've seen, well right before Rhode Island and South Dakota... but if I was rating it i'd say the most common ones are California, Oregon, and then Arizonia

The main similarities between those two states are easily accessible prescription medication you can make a killing driving between the two states with a pocket full of scripts. Never did it myself because I like to think I'm smart but I used to hang out with assholes which wasn't smart

Really? I'd have guessed Maine would be.

@TheHuskyK9: Sorry, no burger places here worthy of traveling across the country to visit that I know of. There is a restaurant up in Jackman, but it's a lot better in the winter, that's their tourist season.

The classic cheeseburger.
The Grape, Dallas, Texas.
It's only served at brunch on Sundays, and it will make you cream your pants.

http://www.thevortexbarandgrill.com/ in Atlanta, Georgia. It's excellent food all around, but their burgers are ridiculous(ly bad for you). I've only been once so far since it's not in the same state I live in, but when I went I had the Double Coronary Bypass:

Twice as ridiculous as the Coronary Bypass!
Topped with two fried eggs, six slices of American
cheese, and eight slices of bacon, served between
two grilled cheese sandwiches that we use in
place of the regular hamburger buns.

If that's not enough artery-clogging for you, you can go for the TRIPLE Coronary Bypass:

It becomes difficult to even describe this, the most preposterous of our Bypass Burgers. It’s sort of a Coronary
Bypass surrounded by a Double Coronary Bypass. Sort of. We guess all you really need to know is that we use
three burger patties, three fried eggs, fourteen slices of American cheese, and ten slices of bacon, all packed
between two grilled cheese sandwiches. Figuring out how to add condiments is completely up to you. It’s
served in a big bowl of french fries and tater tots covered, in lots of our Cheesy-Cheese Goo. Enjoy!

I would be extremely impressed if you finished one by yourself. It might even still be too much for two people.

Here's their menu: http://static.shopify.com/s/files/1/0147/1442/t/1/assets/Food_Menu_3-13.pdf

Make sure that you'll be very close to a bathroom for the next hour or so afterwards. :x

Edit: If you end up deciding to go here, let me know and I might make a special trip out there just for that (if you're fine with others joining you, of course). I was supposed to go the last time I was in Georgia but plans fell through. =/

._.; huh. Ever heard of Unburger? They make incredibly delicious burgers there,; Got a bison with beet and egg and other stuff and it was delicious, though I can't remember what it was.

So we decided to do this in the sometime in the summer. Does the timing affect any of the places?

I think burger places are open pretty much year round.

A couple cities around Dallas, Texas have Twisted Root Burger Co. You can get different kinds of meat as the patty like buffalo or turkey or beaver or whatever. Pretty damn good. They also make their own root beer and have a different flavor every month or so.
They have a burger of the month, about half a year ago it was the caliente burger, with chipotle sauce, sriracha sauce, habanero relish, and pepperjack cheese. Soo fucking good, my mouth is watering thinking about it. Also there's a shake of the month.

Hit me up if you decide to come around.

I am hesitant to recommend anything outside of US, since I think that's where the best burgers are made.

But if you really want to do a worldwide tour, then there's Fergburger in Queenstown, New Zealand. Just look at the website, it'll explain all. Seemed to be popular among tourists, and it was certainly better than anything that I've eaten up here in Scandinavia.
