As a result of a couple of issues last week, some of our users have been getting told that they cannot login to their account, or that their password is wrong.
It is actually a culmination of a few problems with similar symptoms, so we have a few solutions to try:
1. Cookie issue - The server rejected everyone with cookies older than the current session, so repeated attempts to login would eventually cause the browser to request a new session cookie and the user can login.
2. Password failure (email registered) - Sometimes the browser doesn't accept the credentials, even after the session is updated, so the user submits a password reset, which then fixes the problem.
3. Password failure (no email registered) - Same as above, but the user doesn't have an email associated with their account. An admin is the only one who can reset it at this point, and they must wait for them. You can contact an admin via the Contact Us page, under website issues.
4. Complete password failure - A small percentage of all these problems are not resolved, even when the user resets their own password. An admin is the only one who can reset it at this point, and they must wait for them.
We apologize for these problems. This is being caused by a number of small issues that all stopped communicating with each other, and our developers have been hard at work troubleshooting every issue that came up. Your reports were very helpful (except for those who just sent an email with "I can't login" in the subject line and nothing in the body. Not so helpful... ).
Things like this happen, and we appreciate your patience and understand as we work on this. The problem has long been resolved, but there is nothing we can do to mass-repair all the password issues. We will handle them as they come in, just don't wait for it to magically fix itself, let us know if you cannot get in.
Thank you!
