Well, what do you expect when so many furries portray themselves as being creepy, whiny, and persecuted (excuse me, FURsecuted) all over teh interwebs? The fandom as whole has given plenty of reasons to stir up feelings of dislike.

The only thing you can do is not fall into those same behavioral patterns, and provide a good example of why we're not all annoying, bizarre little shits. And not start white knighting the poor, misunderstood furries that shoot themselves in the foot.
