I don't think it's illegal, but it's unconscionable. Also, do realize since your neighbor's wifi is unsecured anything you send across the net (logins and passwords, credit card numbers, etc.) can be snatched up. Hope you enjoy that big-screen TV that someone else bought with your credit card.

Oh, really? I just run some cables underground, and up to the hydro pole behind my home, and tap into the cable box there. Free cable internet! lawl

well i can't get a good connection so i am out in the middle of the night sitting on the edge of my street and making this reply. at least its not that cold =/

Make a deal with your neighbour that you use his internet for a small fee. That way u get faster connection with lower price and no chanche of sudden WPA2 lock.
Actually you should arrange for WPA2 and just get a password.

im going to get verizon internet some time in february. i had charter cable internet which i hate compared to verizon (neighbors share cable line which slows you down considerably) i wonder what my neighbors thought when they pulled in their driveway and saw me laying down a couple feet away with a laptop on my stomach hmmm.. -.-
