Topic: Pointing out "creepy" comments

Posted under General

Well i'll get straight to the point.

Do we really need people to point out "creepy" comments and mock em?

I mean we could just vote 'em down if necessary.
But to quote them just to mock them or even edit their quote seems a bit "asshole-ish"

What do you think?

even completely ignoring the fact that there are a ton of creepazoids on this website, here is a counterpoint for you: do we really need to regulate what people say to that extent?

i mean, you have just as much freedom to mock the mockers as the mockers do to mock the creeps, and i think that's the way it should be

if you think the best response is to just vote them down then vote them down, that's totally cool and you should def. do your own thing, but there are a lot of folks who think that said "creeps" deserve to be mocked or at least called for what they are.

seems reasonable to me. thx

This isn't going to alter anyone's behavior or responses anymore than the comment posting rules (I'm looking at you, "Don't be creepy") do. Trying to impose your own ideals and behavioral standards onto others is completely impossible.

But hey, thank you for sharing!

One of the things e621 always intended to support was the freedom of expression in both artistic and written formats. People generally say what they want; however they should be aware that doing so will often result in consequences.

I see what you mean but don't you think this is a little over the top?

I came to this... then I read the comments and immedietly caussed me to roll with laughter... which then caused 2 things: hacking and coughing, and my cum to spray everywhere.... Suffice to say I now have a dirty bed... and a laptop to clean.... but who cares, this is epic!!!! XDDD

Moderation is, at the end of the day, just censorship based on whatever criteria the site happens to have laid out. Or whatever your staff team feels like.

Banning people is the occlusion of an individual from further discussion based on something they've said prior. It's pretty much the ultimate expression of censorship.

The pretense that this concept and that of "freedom of speech" can some how work in tandem is hilariously improbable. Yet this doesn't stop quite a few staff teams from operating under it, whilst banning anyone they don't like.

It's your site though. Believe whatever you wish. :)

That's not creepy. That's gross, more then anything.

Besides, I think everyone is 'entitled' to have a few creepy comments... it's pretty easy to get caught up in the 'heat' of a good picture and say a little more then you really should have. I think the major difference is once in a while, a little bit creepy, compared to, say,

What's her breasts size and can she ride me hard for a while? Also, can you show her riding the cock of a younger male? I also wonder if the artist could do more pics of this Raichu by showing her huge tongue all the way out of her mouth, even if she's sticking out her entire tongue to show it off. All of that would make me so horny. I wanna get laid with her and see everything else I've asked for. One more thing, can someone give me a detailed description of her body with every detail?

...which has enough 'creepy' quota to last a life time.

in any event, let people mock 'em if they want to. It'll give the creeper's the idea that maybe they'r a bit out of line. and if nothing else, well, tis is the internet where you will be mocked.

the vote down function's there for a reason :D

I think a good solution would be to make the forum work like the Microsoft Internet games in Windows XP (and possibly earlier versions). Those games allow a chat function, but the user is only allowed to choose in a drop-down box from 12 predetermined questions and responses. This is a good compromise between freedom of expression and protection from creepy comments.

I think you should all accept the fact that people will say things you don't like. The problem isn't so much what is being said as it is how others deal with it.

King_of_hunters: I would honestly work on your own commenting before asking others to fix theirs.

Can't we all just stop whining and just learn to deal with creepy comments? Face it, this is a furry website, people leaving comments like that are a fact of life. They don't bother me any...

I find creepy comments of those people describing some action of them "wanting to be" performed to/from the characters in question.
