I suspect he is just re-coloring other people's art (and doing a poor job), but nowhere does he credit the original artist. Not cool.

Look at the smiles between the one on the blue canine, and Jailbird's art. It the exact same smile. Based on that, I believe the original art is JailBird's, but I can't seem to find it. Also, if you zoom in, and follow the leash, and the tops of the ears, you can tell it has been recolored.

So...is this type of thing allowed on FA? I know recoloring art is okay, as long as you get permission from the artist, and you credit the original work, and don't claim the whole thing as your own.

Shouldn't have copied, no. I didn't hide that I copied it. It was what made me go "oh! I can kind of draw.." ... and started me filling thousands of sketchbooks. When we're.. . young and finding our artistic feet, we copy things, or go "GURR, I can't get this to look right"

Did he jsut copy the mouth? well, still not good, but far more forgivable.

though I'll say that the mouth on both images is different.. and that's a VERY common anime styled way of drawing a mouth from the side

If you people actually have working eyes, you can see that he has obviously taken someone else's art, and shoddily recolored it. You can see where the tops of the ears have been cut, he's got red from the leash on the paw, and there are lines missing in some places.

This is an unspecific sentence. by mentioning when he showed up on FA, you make it seem like an integral part of your point, rather then a side note.

next time, try:

NO ambiguities, no questions, it's straight forward and clear. Then you don't have to accuse people of not reading.

As a note... as a artist myself... there is a VAST amount of difference in being able to draw and being able to color. Here is what *I* see: Some kid drew something. he scanned it, took it into photoshop and tried to outline the damned thing with his mouse (note the very irregular angular lines in places like the gray one's cheek ruff). those are mouse lines. Then, he started to color. he got excited and started working on his favorite parts first--like the gray one's torso shading and the blue one's face. he probably finished some parts before even starting others. he used very different techniques in one part then another (as he learned new things but was too lazy to go back and 'fix' other parts), and in some places he clearly rushed because he was getting bored ad didn't realize that art takes time.

the ear tip is a fucking oops. he came along with the eraser and deleted the wrong layer. or his shading deleted the line art there. BEsides.. on zoom in it's not nearly as extreme as it looks fro further back.

the fact that his coloring goes OVER the ones in some spots and under in others suggests that this is one person's mess, not a stolen recolored mess.

So.. tl;dr - my eyes work and I don't see thieved artwork that someone's recolored. Maybe traced. Maybe took a black and white and colored it. but not stole finished art and recolored.

Some of my closest friends aren't 18 yet. doesn't mean they are pathetic scum. It just means you haven't learned to deal with the younger generation.. which is odd seeing as you are about 19 yourself.
