Posting memes isn't explicitly against the rules, but the site only accepts something if it has some kind of artistic significance. Memes tend to be very repetitive, unoriginal, and generally worthless on an individual basis.

Granted, certain memes can be particularly funny or clever at times, but if you plan on posting one here it had better be damn funny and damn clever, or else it will not be approved by mods.

And whatever you do, do not post the same type of meme ten times in a row. That means don't upload a dozen "haters gonna hate" pictures at once. That's just going to make the mods angry. In fact, make sure you upload plenty of non-meme artwork in between the memes. Having nothing but "I herd u liek Mudkipz" and gifs of RL cats on your upload list reflects upon you very badly as a user.

TL;DR: Upload memes at your own risk.

Agreed, and also to expand on the idea -- if you DO have 10 mudkipz pictures, consider uploading say, 2 or 3 today, 1 tomorrow, 2 the day after, etc. Pick your favorites first, and by the end you'll probably have some that you'll never upload because they really weren't as good on second, third, fourth and fifth glance.

Additionally, be sure to tage meme and image_macro if appropriate
