Wait. So...what IS a lobsterban? Getting banned for flagging that pic for deletion? Is that it?
I'm pretty sure (not 100%, don't quote me on it, get confirmation from an admin, etc etc), backseat-modding is things like telling other users that their comments suck rather than just down-voting the comment or reporting to a mod/admin; bitching about how a picture is tagged rather than taking a half second to re-tag it. As for shark week...No clue man, you're on your own.

Shark week was where Arcturus and Mellis would go around policing comments and making examples out of people who were acting up. Backseat modding, well, is when users go around bossing other users around by acting like mods. It's possible (and encouraged) to remind users of the rules and policies when they make mistakes without backseat modding, as it helps keep the place nice and neat and makes it easier for the mods to worry about more pressing matters than babysitting the users. There's a line between being a good user and a dick with a power complex.

The lobster ban was people flagging mellis's example post for deletion, when he mentioned in the very first comment anyone who did so would be banned.

and people wonder why flagging is so strict recently.

There was also a bat week where the mods would pick out the best people and give them privileged accounts.
