I noticed that in the last 24 hours or so that I've been online here, that there are no longer any comments on deleted pictures.
Why the sudden change? Was this meant to prevent commenting on a picture, and thus, a topic that is no longer present?

It makes sense.
Apart from the higher-ups, the only people who can view the deleted ones were those who had bookmarked them beforehand.
