Topic: Any fans of Werewolf:the Apocalypse on here?

Posted under Off Topic

Because in my town it seems to be mostly D&D and WOW gamers.

I'm trying to renew my Camarilla membership as well.

Any other fans of W:TA on here?

Choose no life. Choose no career. Choose to live at the Caern. Choose a totem. Choose a fucking big klaive, choose breeder banes the size of washing machines, Black Spiral Dancers, weaver spiders and corrupted naturae spirits. Choose no sleep, high rage and mental instability. Choose between dedicating jeans or boots. Choose no friends. Choose challenging a Sept elder for your fucking right to exist. Choose the Umbra and wondering why the fuck you are slogging through arse deep Wyrm toxins on a sunny morning. Choose walking through a Scab looking at brain dead, spirit-stunted homids, fisting fucking junk food into their mouths. Choose being butchered to pieces at the end of it all, giving your last in some miserable Wyrmhole, nothing more than a legend to the selfish, fucked-up, weaver-ridden spawn replacing the beloved defenders of Gaia. Choose your future.

(Fiannan Galliard all the fucking way)

It's been over 10 years since I last played it. No one around here has any interest, sadly. I remember it being kind of fun, but a bit rough around the edges. Of course, I've only got the first edition werewolf and vampire books, so I'm sure the system has improved since then.

I had the RAGE card game and it was pretty fun but never played Werewolf Apocalypse. I did play the Vampire version and it was pretty fun playing a freshly turned healer/caregiver vamp.

GMed 1st ed, and a but of Mage way back; still have a bucket load of D10s.

First edition WW rules were rough as fuck in many ways, but OK to work with. Encouraged a fairly open, loose kind of plot no end. These days I'd so work the SL vs. SF lording it over everyone else angle more and encourage players to pick some sort of Fianna/Gnawer/GoF/Furies underclass allegiance more.

I play different auspices and clans each time I play rather then 'absolutly' lumping myself into one of them c_c That said, my favorite was a Child of Gaia Ragabash. but I did enjoy that silver fang theurge of mine also :3

That said, my favorite system is a heavily modified version of aberrant.. :D

Aberrant is ultimate. Almost anything you can imagine is possible, amazing system.

Yep :D needs a good GM to keep the players from being retarded, though (or maybe that's just our local powergamers...)

I think that's true of just about any system though.

Trufax. Though as a GM I don't mind my players being retarded. Games can't be all super cereal all the time.

Yeah, I typically get stuck with DMing over playing, so I tend to aim more for fun over challenge. If I'm running a game that I want to kill players with, it's typically a horror campaign. Otherwise we tend to play sci-fi or super hero games, where explosions and heroics are standard fair.

Eh, I can go either way. I've played so many systems over the years that I just roll with it.

Yeah,it has. W:TA third edition got rid of the racist stuff on Get of Fenris.

To be honest, I don't remember any racist material. What was wrong with it?

rpgsoapbox.net has some reviews of the popular online venues. I personally play at Sinful Illusions. There's quite a following of oWoD folks who still play. :)
