Ditto. Yahoo Widgets use about the same amount. With 4 GB's of RAM, and a dual-core CPU it does not bother me.
I even ran these things back when I had an XP desktop with 248 MB of RAM, and a Celeron II processor...

i got 8 gb ram and a quad core, it doesnt affect me either, but they still shouldn't take that much for just idling there

Shell is bblean.
The coexistence of w98 and XP is for legacy app support.
Resolution is because of crappy 14inch monitor that can't handle more than 60hz at higher resolutions.

IMO, move half the icons to the right side of the screen to better 'frame' the image and give the black strips a purpose. also, I'd un-red the task bar (maybe try to match her stripes? 'leaf' seems like it might be a good candidate)

But. y'know, it looks pretty good as is too XD

the stripes are a windows thing, its like a glare it gives its transperant obects. the taskbar is actually clear. and the main rason im not going to do any majro edits is because i have a billion wallpapers on rotation, and that was one quick edit to show ipiki how to properly use an image like that. hell i took it off the rotation as soon as i screenshoted it

3Ds Max,Sony Vegas(bitch bloat).I mean Win 7 uses god damn entire 1 GB of ram when idle. I mean really.For what,so fancy animations and funtions that i don't even care.
Also,games runs smoother on XP like mine as well.
I care more about performance,not appearance.

It's a Dell XPS: big, heavy, and inefficient. But it suits my needs (Maya, Photoshop, and the occasional FPS).
