Topic: Feature request - Make working with tags less time consuming with context menus

Posted under General

I would like to add tags to the blacklist more quickly.

Copying the tag, navigating to My Account, going to Blacklist and pasting the tag takes a long time.

Ideally there could be a plus sign next to each tag I could click that would slide out a list of options for working with that tag, such as: Subscribe, blacklist, report tag abuse, remove tag, show related tags.

Because pressing CNTRL+C and clicking twice to press CNTRL+V is just wayyy too much work. Burn too many calories, you see.

Vote for keeping it as it is. Ever heard of 'don't fix what isn't broken'?

Well, I think it's an interesting thought, but I'm wondering how it is that you need to make so many changes to your blacklist so often. Myself, I don't think I've changed my blacklist in over a year, and I only needed a few tag additions after the first major pass.

Unless you're using your blacklist to fake making highly specific searches, but that's not what the blacklist was meant for. I'm also not sure why highly specific searches would be necessary. I just don't see enough content posted to this site to justify highly-specific tag searches. Granted, I'm here on a nearly-daily habit, but it's the rare occasion that I visit page 2 of the search results. (I usually only search for "female", do we really get that many pages of content that do not include that tag?)

Though on the subject of highly-specific tag searches, how is the database performing these days? Out of sheer curiosity, would the admins consider raising the number of tags that could be searched for at any one time?

Well supposedly the blacklist is meant to be more malleable, but it's annoying to go to every time you want to change it. Having an easier method to access it either to add tags or remove them from it would be nice.

Well, sometimes I want to do a search that would be just a metatag, but exclude certain results. If you try to do that through the search window, you get a "you cannot search for only excluded tags" message, but the blacklist gets around that.

Also there's been a time or two when the search I wanted to make hit five tags, but since at least one was an excluded tag the blacklist helped again.
