Topic: Android Browser users look here.

Posted under General

Hi! I have isolated a bug in the android OS that causes it to freak out when it loads the image loader on the main post page. This however is only effecting the default browser, not any of the other free ones you may download. I am working on a work around for this, however at the current moment you have these options

Disable javascript, and add &limit=16 to your url
Get a better browser (I am totally loving opera mobile)
find a way not to view your e621 on a phone.
run around like a chicken that the world is ending.

I am sorry for your inconvenience. I will have something in the next update hopefully.

Would I be mistaken in thinking that a quick and easy workaround for this problem would be to just add a line of code that checks if the client is Android and then disables the rest of the offending script?

I don't do quick and easy, it's just another way of saying, "Sloppy" and "bug inducing" As of right now we don't support Android Browser because of their bug, however once I find out what is causing the failure to load I'll find a way of fixing it.

In short: There is no way to make everyone happy, so I'm just gonna cut through anyway.

Fully agree the native browser sucks -too bad I have no space for a replacement.

The thumbnail page shows only 'loading...' twirlies for my Nexus 1, but the thumbnails flash up briefly before being replaced by the twirlies, if I've loaded the page before. I mention this in case it helps isolate the issue.

Isolated the problem and have it repaired, once I clean up the current update patch it will be applied.

I haven't been able to get flash to work on the non-native browsers though :(

my nook color runs on android though I cant really change the browser or disable java on that so until the bug with droid is fixed I've just learned to deal with it and narrow my searchs with multiple tags, I can't see thumbnail and don't feel like seeing dong? -penis, get dong anyway? add tags rinse repeat

I... fixed that bug, just tested it on my intercept. The site works.

what ever the fix was does not seem to have worked on nook color, thumbnail images still appear as a continuous loading icon. maybe it's just nooks issue
