Topic: Why shit's currently broken

Posted under General

*Ding* Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. Some of you may be experiencing difficulties with the site. Apparently, the fix for the Android default browser has fucked everything up for everyone else. Chrome/IE seem to be unaffected, so if you want full site functionality, use one of those.

If not, assume crash position until we are free from turbulence. Food carts will not be travelling the aisles until then. Thank you.

Kitsu~: Can you try not to post anything until this problem gets fixed then? This applies to everyone else too.

You might need to rebuild the search index too...

How am I expected not to post dupes when I can't find the originals?

I'm using Firefox and everything seems to work fine.

The Safari browser on my iPhone refuses to show images on e621, though.

You mean the "ID: xxxxx" line on the left side of a post page? I thought nobody had a use for it (the ID's right in the URL) so I removed it.

People use it all the time to copy and paste the ID into other posts' parent fields...
Now we have to take it from the URL.

Personally, I always used the URL for copy/paste. I didn't even realize there were ID numbers on the side. Besides, I would have thought it was faster to use the URL than to have to scroll down to find the number on the image information on the side.

Actually you mostly didn't have to scroll down to find the ID in the sidebar, so i always thought it was easier just to take it from there. Now we also have to select a specific section of the URL ever time. Before that, we could easily just grab the entire line in the SB. But i suppose it's only nitpicking, because it only tags a few seconds onto the process for some people, including me.

That's not at all related to that. The only purpose it served was to tell you the ID of the current post, and it says it right in the URL. (e621.net/post/show/_____)

so the URL will still show the ID?

Always has, always will. All I removed was it being shown on the left, with the source link, favorite count, score, rating, etc.

I rather liked it. Used it all the time, never got the ID from the URL, to be honest.

Updated by anonymous

hmm.. I never would have known peopel did that.

Hrmmm...

maybe we can save vert room by changing the formatting to:

Statistics: post #1111

then having the posted and so forth below?

For now I just put the ID line back in, but it won't be there on the site until Aurali updates it.
