I'd like to edit the "braukoly" ( http://e621.net/post/index?tags=braukoly ) tag to the type of "artist", but I can't - presumably because my account doesn't have the right permissions.

Is it possible for someone to edit this for me, and what is the procedure to follow if I need to do this again in the future?

Yeah, I can't get to the 'edit' page. I tried that before posting this - but it keeps giving me "Access denied" and wants me to log in again and again. Your account is a Contributor account, so I can only assume that that is the difference here.

So just add artist: before the tag when you add it to a post (or edit a post with it already on it and add artist:braukoly to it).

Anyone can edit tags; the best way to do it for a non-contributor who can't edit things like that is to just boot up the tag edit screen for any relevant picture, then type "artist:braukoly" or whatever the appropriate tag edit is (Check help and the cheatsheet for more info).

Neither of those methods seem to work for a tag that already has a type. I'm trying to change the tag sashabunny from artist to character, (Sasha doesn't draw. All his pics are commissions.) but I can't do it. When I use character:sashabunny the type remains unchanged, and when I use the tag page to edit I also get "Access denied".

Well if sashabunny is just a commisisoner, it sounds to me like he should be a copyright tag instead of a character tag. So I did that instead.
